For a financial management firm, a Microsoft Access database application was developed to
bring years of monthly stock analysis spreadsheet data into a database repository.
Correct spreadsheet sections are identified by the database application.
Before import, spreadsheets are inspected by the database application for data and
timeframe verification. If the spreadsheet does not pass inspection
it is not imported. User are informed and can check the inspection history log to learn
what is wrong with the spreadsheet.
Spreadsheet importation can be done manually
or scheduled to run automatically.
A history of imported spreadsheets is maintained to
allow undoing or redoing selected spreadsheets.
